My broom press that is dated Sept.10, 1878.  The photo on the left is how the press looked when I purchased it.  The bottom is smaller because when the electric stitching machine was invented these presses were put in barn and attics and the bottoms rotted away.  The photo on the right is how the press looks now, my father and I put a new bottom on it which is apparently how it looked new.
